Welcome! I am a doctoral candidate in Economics at UC San Diego. My areas of specialization are Development and Labor. More specifically, I study the labor market decisions and outcomes of the educated and female in developing countries. My job market paper examines the impact of increased parental leave on leave take-up rates, mothers’ labor force decisions, and fertility decisions. My other research examines the impact of university expansion in Kenya on college graduates’ attendance and labor market participation rates. My last chapter steps out of Kenya and continues the same theme in a different context. It looks at the impact of female bosses on female subordinate’s career advancement within the Indian civil service system.
